France trip, Nov 2007 - La Cremerie, a Paris wine bar

Cremerie is a wine bar/ wine store that offers a selection of relatively good artisan wine. It is in a quiet street but it was filled quickly after it opens. I think it is quite popular with the local.

The walls are lined with wine.

There is a small kitchen.

... More wine...

... And a few small tables.

We tried a few wine and had a platter of iberico ham to go with it.

Close-up of the ham... yummm.

The place is both a wine bar and a wine store. So you can walk in and buy bottles of wine to take away. Or you can order a glass from the wine-by-the-glass menu on the chalkboard. Then, if you want to have specific wine, you can buy a bottle there and pay a small corkage fee and drink it there. I think the wine license dictates that you must order something to eat with the wine, so they also offer a small selection of food, including cheese, foie gras, oyster or ham platter.

It is a nice experience and we had a good catch-up while drinking some good wine and munching some really yummy ham. The weather was a bit wet outside so it was also a great way to stay out of the rain! :)
